About this fire
The MARSTEK Saturn B2500-D is a balcony solar battery with a 2.24 kWh LFP cell that connects to almost every mainstream solar module and microinverter via its MC4 interface, helping you cut your electricity costs.
- 2.24 kWh of storage capacity, expandable to 8.96 kWh → so the system can grow with your energy needs at any point, without you having to invest in an oversized setup from day one
- 2 independent MPPT channels with up to 1600 watts of PV input → uses solar energy particularly efficiently and feeds it into the household as needed, so the solar power you generate during the day is still available in the evening
- MC4 interface with broad compatibility across mainstream solar modules and microinverters → integrates easily into existing installations, with no need to replace the components you already have
- Installation in minutes, with no tools or technical expertise → so you can get started immediately, without waiting for an installer or paying high fitting costs
- LFP battery technology with over 6000 charge cycles and a 10-year manufacturer's warranty → works reliably for many years and retains most of its original capacity over the long term, so your investment lasts
- IP65 rating: dust-tight and protected against water jets → so you can use the battery outdoors on a balcony all year round without worrying about the weather
Ideal for renters and homeowners who want to retrofit reliable storage on a balcony or to an existing solar installation. Genuine product, as-new condition. With built-in seven-stage safety protection and MARSTEK app control you keep full visibility of your energy use at all times – the dependable choice for permanent use with no installation work.
Questions about buying a fire
Can I use this in a smoke control area?
Only if the appliance is DEFRA approved — look for the DEFRA mark on this page. Under the Clean Air Act most UK towns and cities are smoke control areas, where you may burn smokeless fuel, or wood in an appliance DEFRA has exempted. Burning wood in a non-exempt stove in one of those areas can carry a penalty from your local authority. Gas, electric and bioethanol fires are not affected by smoke control rules.
What size stove (kW) do I need for my room?
As a rough guide, measure the room in metres, multiply length × width × height and divide by 14. A 5m × 4m room with a 2.4m ceiling gives about 3.4kW. Most British living rooms land between 4kW and 6kW. Oversizing is the common mistake — a stove run too cool tars up the flue and blackens the glass. Well-insulated or new-build homes should size down; a draughty solid-wall cottage should size up.
Who installs it?
You do, or an installer you appoint — we supply the appliance only and do not offer or arrange installation. A solid fuel appliance must be installed to Building Regulations Document J and signed off; a registered installer (HETAS or equivalent) can self-certify, otherwise you must notify building control before work begins. Gas appliances must by law be fitted by a Gas Safe registered engineer. Bioethanol and electric fires need no flue and no notifiable work.
What flue or liner will it need?
That depends on the appliance and on your chimney, so have your installer confirm it before you order. As a general picture: into an existing masonry chimney a stove normally needs a flexible stainless liner sized to its flue outlet; with no chimney, a twin-wall insulated system can be run internally or up an external wall; a balanced-flue gas fire needs only an external wall; and bioethanol needs no flue at all, only adequate room ventilation.
How will it be delivered?
Boxed on a pallet, kerbside, on a tail-lift vehicle to the nearest hard standing — free to UK mainland on orders over £500. Stoves are heavy, so have two able people ready to move it from the kerb. Highlands, islands and Northern Ireland run on a longer schedule with any surcharge quoted at checkout.
What about warranty and spare parts?
Everything we sell is new, genuine UK stock and carries its manufacturer's warranty, which you register with the manufacturer after installation. Wearing parts such as rope seals, glass, baffles and grates are consumables and are not covered by warranty — we can supply them for the models we stock.
